Wide Angle

In the days that I was shooting with a Contax RTS 35mm film camera, my work always tended towards the telephoto rather than the wide angle. When I made the transition to digital and had the chance to rediscover my passion, I found that while the majority of what I do is still telephoto, I have been exploring more and more the world of wide angle photography. I was excited to purchase a new ultra wide angle lens for the first time, and as soon as it arrived – on a dreary, grey, overcast day – I headed out to my favorite spot to try out new equipment. I tried a number of different shots, some designed to see where the limits of acceptable wide angle distortion might be. Here are some of my first photos with the new Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX AF 11-16mm f/2.8 lens.
